Seyed Bagher Khosrowshahi, 60, is a teacher at the howze (Koranic seminary) of the Tehran Bazaar. He is one of the influential religious figures of this key center of the Iranian economy. In 2005, he voted for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom he thought most capable of helping the poorest. In 2009, he defected to the opposition and has become a harsh critique against the government which, in his opinion, failed to invest in the economic infrastructures to create new jobs.
